I have to regretfully inform that I will be retiring due my old age and I will be passing over my operation with my branded products here in the U.K. which also operates worldwide to the son of my old tea planting colleague, the late Manthi Delwita and his son Luvinda Delwita has since the death of his father taken over the specialist business that his father and I set-up in 1992.
The business under my brand will still continue in the U.K. as two of my long term friends operating very successful trade operations have accepted my offer to give them the ability to order my branded products direct from Colombo which will continue the availability of these extremely high quality single estate teas manufactured direct at the estates in the dry season periods which raise significantly the quality of a tea.
It has been a big decision for me as age advances to have to step away from this tea business with six generations of my family having been involved in that beautiful island that was Ceylon and its lovely people. I wish to thank all those discerning Real Tea enthusiasts who have supported the aim of my business to make available, single estate expertly crafted teas at the hands of expert tea-makers, producing inherent characters in their teas, only possible in the quality dry season conditions.
I am though extremely happy to be able to leave two superb U.K. clients of mine to carry on the import and marketing of those same teas from our hard working skilled friends in Colombo.
