Below are three groups of trial packs which have been specially selected to help Trade clients, to select the different brews and liquors. These can be altered to fit requirement.
The first pack contains heavier colouring liquors or teas with a bit more body. The range of flavours is large from such a small island and they can be confusing to those consumers not used to the teas from this fascinating producer area.
The prices are inclusive of P & P within the United Kingdom mainland area. Outside this area postage or carriage is at cost.

NUTS:
We market very high quality natural cashew (or Cadjunut). They are natural dried nuts with a totally natural flavour, without any gassing with Nitrogen, or added oils. Specially selected quality nuts. We also market roasted spiced nuts.
Hand Crafted Gift Packs:
We have worked with certain families known to us for their traditional workmanship, handed down from generation to generation. These packs are being changed all the time and form a really top quality gift, that can be kept and used for other purposes. Traditional subjects are used as the craftsman's motifs. The elephant is an important animal, not only for it's usefulness but also it is revered and included in cultural and religious festivals. The entwined swans and the vine of life are explained under our logos and pack design description on the Company page. Again a very traditional design, not used lightly by the craftsman.
Some of the items such as the luxury velvet box are made to order and can include a logo or initials. The delivery time on such an order is at least eight weeks. Most of the items can be developed with stores or distributors to include their own particular requirements on the items and also to include a selected tea within the limitations of Seasonal production times. These are tabled in the 'Tea Production' pages.
We usually try and stock some of each of the individual caddy gifts. The normal packaging is in a red cardboard box for the single caddies. However you will see a range of different crafted boxes are available at extra cost. We can also develop different packs for stores and distributors. However please remember that this is a craft not a factory workshop and each craftsmans capacity is limited.
The term Iodised is a form of finish that preserves the polished look and requires no further polishing. The craftsman applies a dark dip over the base metal colour and then polishes this back over the high sections, producing a light and dark finished effect. This is then coated with a film to preserve the final effect.

Ordering
Mail order clients: May go to our SHOP. Or contact us direct. It is our intention to market via the trade wherever this proves possible and we hope that you will take advantage of their service. However we understand that there may not be a specialist shop close to you and Mail Order may be the only alternative. However we do hope that you will use the stockists of our teas in your area, in the interests of them remaining a viable service for your needs in the future.
Trade clients: It is best to contact me direct to discuss your requirements and place orders, or you may use the Trade Order Form to select a number of items that you are interested in from the Order Form Page and send them for further discussion. Large stores, Brokers and packers are advised to contact me direct for further detailed discussions. Payment is usually with order. Any deferment of payment will necessitate bank details and agreement by this office, prior to any ordering. All payments for large amounts are paid by a secure bank system.
Trade requirements for bulk teas: Requirements for bulk teas for sale as straight estate or for blending, need careful discussion. We would recommend the submission of a sample of the type of tea required for your needs. Either an existing tea required, or a sample close to any new requirement. We can then submit this to our Colombo office to obtain straight or standard samples to meet that requirement, which will then be sent by courier service ex Colombo for appraisal where customers are seen to be serious. For blending, the establishing of a standard is to be recommended and we can then supply constantly to that standard. It is important to note that it is not possible for businesses re-packing our bulk teas to use the quality 'Lion Logo' symbol on their own packs.
We can supply these bulk teas in chests for leafy traditional grades or sacks for the smaller traditional and all CTC grades. Some estate bulk teas can be packed in vacuum bags and boxed. Tea chests and sacks will vary in weight according to the grade of leaf ordered. Tea chest can vary from 60 kilos for B.O.P.F grade to as low as 30 kilos for an O.P. 1 grade.
Alternatively in heat sealed foil packs from 1 kilo to larger sizes. Quality teas in these packs carry the 'quality' Lion Logo on our labels. These foil packs would be supplied in Master Cartons. For 1 kilo packs 20 packs per Master Carton.
All payments would be by payment with order, or by a secure system through our U.K. Sterling bank.
The bulk trade is complex and we would wish to discuss any interest that you may have in detail.
Available on Request.
Guide:
1. Please define Traditional grades or CTC grades required.
2. Please define the exact quality and price range of the tea required, especially if no sample is available.
3. Please define whether Single estate, High season flavoury teas, Estate or District Standards are required.
4. The leaf type being sought. E.G. Whether an open F.B.O.P. leaf or tight neat leaf..
5. Please note 'High Season' flavoury teas to a 'specific manufacture' for special clients, can only be negotiated on minimum orders of 150 - 200 kilos. If we are already negotiating teas for ourselves, smaller quantities can sometimes be made available. Smaller quantities of a high season normal run can be obtained. It is also impossible to obtain unusual large grades such as OP 1 and even FBOP in 'High Season'. The estates produce the smaller more intense grades at this time.
6. Direct shipments can be arranged from our business in Colombo for the following minimum quantities:
Bulk teas in chest = 20 chests (up to three different types). Smaller lots can be arranged if orders coincide with our own shipments.
Packed teas = Minimum economical shipment is 2 pallets (1 pallet is possible but raises the cost considerably). We can supply up to three different types of packing or types of leaf per pallet in a mix.

Gift caddies and crafted box range |
Range of Trade:
We deal with a large spread of clients, in that we have our own brand packed teas available, in a wide range of packs to both the trade and Mail order customers. These are always of exceptional quality.
Delivery to International customers is best shipped direct ex Colombo, with initial negotiations and payment to our U.K. office. However smaller quantities can be shipped or air lifted in urgent situations ex U.K. or Colombo.
We are able to supply packs to larger customers with their own logo or labelled with their business name by discussion. It greatly helps with costs, if a disk or colour separation of details is available. We can print in three different formats.

Support material - English or French |
For Specialist Stores, we can develop special packs in conjunction with their design teams in a wide range of pack types. This includes crafted, jointed wood boxes in soft or hard woods. These packs however can only be used with our teas.
Independent Delicatessens and Stores:
We are members of the 'Guild of Fine Food Retailers' and at present all our own branded packs are registered within their 'Fine Food Accreditation Scheme'.
Finally we respect the concerns of the independent trade. They are often concerned that teas sold to them, will appear in supermarket chains. If we are knowingly approached by large chains (Supermarkets) for supplies, we have the capacity to negotiate different estate combinations from the same areas for their needs.
