With the exception of Breakfast Blend all our other black teas are single estate origin manufactures made to our specific requirements at the estates.
Furthermore the manufactures are only developed for us in the two world renowned Ceylon tea Quality seasons. The first is February to March with the South West Quality dry season & cool ocean wind.
The second is the world famous Uva Quality Season from July to August with the coming of the cool Cachan ocean wind which contributes to the flavoury Uva teas at this time only.
These special weather conditions allow the Tea-maker to use all his skill to produce teas that will develop liquors of extreme quality where the brewed leaf in the cup has wonderful clarity, briskness or life in the cup and fully developed district flavours. EXPERIENCE THE PLEASURE THAT ' REAL' TEAS BRING TO YOUR PALATE.
LEAF GRADE (Size): Please note that our teas carry a grade on the pack. The smallest grade is B.O.P., a larger leaf grade is F.B.O.P and therefore a little lighter than a B.O.P. with the largest grades being P. & O.P. or O.P. 1 which exhibit even lighter liquors.
Always ensure that a kettle is filled with 100 % fresh drawn water that has not been boiled.
That the kettle is allowed to reach boiling point and then poured quickly over the leaf or tea bag.
Select the amount of leaf that suits your palate. If consuming without milk less leaf should be selected.
One minute after brewing stir to ensure all leaf is circulating and not stuck on the bottom of the pot.
Allow to brew for the amount of time that suits your palate, T-sacs can be used to allow removal of the leaf.
I would always suggest that Ceylon teas are drunk without milk as this is a more healthy option but milk can be added if required to many of them.

In producing a Breakfast tea as against a naturally ocurring single estate character we have blended the leaf from two specially selected estates to give a little more body to the final brew.
WINNER in 2008 of a 2 star rated Gold award at the Great Taste Awards annual judging.

A really superb coloury SINGLE Estate high grown leaf with seasonal character. Ideal as an all day tea that will take milk if required.

Lying in the South West of the central mountains between the two major districts of Dimbula & Dickoya the brew exhibits an excellent coppery colour- During the season it has a clean crisp, bright & fragrant liquor.

This a single estate special manufacture where a slow rolling programme in a district that receives very humid & hot conditions has emphasised the tip (buds) and produced a silvery black effect in the finished manufacture.
The liquor produces a dry slightly sweet mellow taste with a following dry length of taste. We would recommend serving this brew without milk.

The estate occupies a position on a high hill near the old Gingathena Pass. It is this elevation that helps to determine the character of the leaf during the season.
A red coloured liquor that will take milk if required but the large OP grade leaf makes it suitable to drink without milk.

A SINGLE estate seasonal tea from the world famous UVA district that lies in the undulating mountains to the East of the main central mountain area.
The season starts in late July with a cool Cachan wind blowing in over the ocean from the East, combining with the hot dry weather at this time to produce the amazing Uva character.
The Uva Best Dark, alludes to tyhe eact that at this time of year we have selected the estate that in our opinion has develeoped to its best potential & is at around 3,00 feet in elevation which will produce a coloury Uva which can take milk if required. Manufactured during the night to retain the volatile flavour oils expressed from the leaf at this time of year.
The tea will be beautifully balanced with a flowery aroma & flavour.
