My colleague in Ceylon (Sri Lanka)
grows a variety of traditional local spices on his family lands and is interested
to market these through our business as a select quality fresh product. This
venture has developed further with a friend who has a packing station and is
drawing in a number
of
village plots that are interested in seeking a better price for their produce.
The outside producers are offered a bonus to encourage the age old system of
small production without intensifying the system.
We have developed a tube tin in two sizes, one larger size for 200 g Cashew nuts and a narrower tube for our spices. The tube has an internal foil lining and the spices are then packed within a heat sealed foil pouch which is placed within the tube. Some spices need to breathe and therefore in those cases the internal pouch will be perforated to allow breathing within the tube.
A picture of the packaging is placed here to depict the packaging and the branding of the packs.
Whilst the spices are organic in the manner of their production, we have not had these certified at this stage through our office but if organic spices are preferred we will be able to operate with organic certification in the future as we are already authorized to handle organic spices.
