50 Tea bag Gift wood boxes:

PACKAGING:

Source of timber used for the boxes:

The timber that we use for the making of the boxes is from a species of tree that has been used as a shade tree within the tea fields for many generations. During that time it has been managed on a replacement cycle and this policy still continues to-day which allows us to use the timber for the boxes and also forms another source of  income for the estates.

The tea used in these bags is from specialist manufacture made specifically for us.

All the tea bag boxes are packed as double gusset, non bleached bags with a string and tag. They are further wrapped in an individual wrapper.

The range has been developing over time and all new stocks from November 2001 will have a tag that is individually named with the type of tea and coloured to the pack identity colour. The individual wrapper at present is of one type with our name on, this will be changing to include the type of tea as stocks change through 2002.

As from November 2001 the Afternoon, Earl Grey, Biodynamic black and green tea bags in the wood boxes will be in stock and these packs will be as above but packed in two separate printed, heat sealed pouches each containing 25 bags within the wood box. This is in response to consumer and trade comments to return to the sealed pouch packing used originally. This will further seal in the high quality flavour and freshness of the teas packed straight from the estate factories.

Community owned Organic Bio dynamic tea bags:     The tea for the black and green tea bags from this method of production comes from a community owned estate. Full details of production are in our Organic section of the Web.

BREWING:    Treat black tea bags as for black tea with point of boil water. Green tea bags as for green tea leaf 90 o C (194 F).
ICED  TEA:    All our tea bags can be used for iced tea by brewing at double strength and pouring the brew into a glass or glasses filled with ice.
